The other day I got a Facebook message from a good friend of mine that read: “Ok, you have great fashion sense. I have none. Boys are getting pictures taken…do these work together, or is it too much?” I was happy to look at her options and help her choose outfits for her family photos, but what I liked best about it was the sweet compliment. You see, I love fashion, and I try each day to put together a fun new outfit that I feel great wearing. I like experimenting with colors and styles and accessories and I enjoy staying in the know about the latest fashion trends.
So it probably doesn’t surprise you when I tell you that fashion and style magazines are one of my favorite “just for me” indulgences. Sometimes I read them at the library while LC plays on the computer, and every now and then I treat myself by buying my own copy. This week, Target is running a special deal that was way too good to pass up! Get this…

Yup. You read that right. It’s a no-brainer! Buy two style magazines I really want to read, and get a $5 gift card to one of my favorite stores. Um, yes please!
Basically, it’s like getting the In Style issue for free, and then you have a built-in excuse to buy something else you want for yourself since you get a gift card! My Target store had the deal clearly advertised, as you can see, but even if you don’t see signs about it, trust me, it’s going on and you will get your gift card at checkout. {But hurry, you only have three more days to get this offer!}
I couldn’t believe how big and thick the In Style issue is…and both of the magazines have all kinds of fun articles and advertisements for everything you need to know about holiday style this year! I particularly enjoyed the articles about the best ways to wear sparkles and sequins {remember our motto…glitter makes everything better} and what colors and fabrics to mix with metallics.
Speaking of sparkles, here’s one of the things I found that I “need” for this holiday season: a fabulous sequined tank top from Old Navy that’s just $20. I can’t wait for Santa, I’m just going to have to buy it for myself; after all, my birthday is just 10 days away! What do you think?
I also found these adorable Remington stacked clips…how cute do they look on Emma Stone?! My hair is at that weird in-betweeny length where it’s too long for a really short style and too short to pull back or up, so I’m always looking for fun style ideas. I noticed that it says these are $5 at Target…the perfect way to use my gift card! I waited to spend it until I’d looked through the magazines to see what I might want to get, and I’m so glad I did! Next time I’m there, I’m picking these up for myself {I’m not telling LC I have a gift card or he’ll spend it on another Curious George movie!}
