Felt and Lace Bat Brooch {Contributor}
Has it been a month already! My, it feels like I was just here sharing my felt elephant brooches last month. But, nonetheless, I am thrilled to be back here today. In case you’ve forgotten, I’m Nancy from www.dosmallthingswithlove.com. Amy has been a wonderful encouraging force in my life as a blogger, and I love stopping by each month to share a new project. This month I have a project that is perfect for Halloween, and takes about 3 minutes to whip up. Seriously. This sweet little felt and lace bat brooch, despite it’s long name, is a no-sew project and with the help of the provided template, is super easy and quick to make.
Here’s how to make your own:
Supplies:
Grey Felt
Black Lace
Packing Tape
Bar Pin
Wiggly Eyes
Hot Glue
1. Using the TEMPLATE provided, cut out your felt pieces. The best way to cut out small felt pieces is to use packing tape. Place a large piece of packing tape over the template and felt (as shown). Then, cut around the template, cutting through the tape and felt.
2. Cut out the lace background. Place the wing felt piece on the lace and just cut around it loosely, making sure it is bigger than the felt on all sides.
3. Hot Glue everything together!
And…done! Did you time me? Sure is quick and easy, right? I love dressing up for Halloween, but with two small children it is more and more appealing to dress them up and just wear a cute Halloween brooch. I think I might be doing that this year!
Thanks to Amy for having me once again! And…if you like this–consider checking out the other Felt Bat Brooch I made–and also supplied a free template for!
See you next month,
Beautiful!
