What you need:

Medium Weight Yarn in your Favorite Color
Chunky Button
Elastic Yarn Thread
Size G Hook

**Tips – If you haven’t used elastic thread, here are a few tips.
1 – Make sure you keep it tight! Set up the roll of thread according to package directions, and let the pull come automatically.
2 – Don’t be tempted to give yourself slack. Your resulting project won’t have very much elasticity.
3- Try to crochet a little looser than you normally would. The elastic will pull your stitches tight, and making the loops looser keeps things looking a little bit nicer.
It takes a bit of practice, but it is very fun to have a nice, stretchy project!

  1. I’ve never used the elastic thread before but I’ve seen it called for in a few patterns. This sounds like a great idea to give it that tight, but flexible feel to the headband. Thanks for the tips, and headband tutorial!
