Minecraft Cubes

In case you haven’t heard, Little Crafter and all his buddies have a common obsession these days…Minecraft. Honestly, if they’re going to play a video game, I’m glad it’s this one because it actually encourages them to think, collaborate, and create. Given how much he enjoys it, I wasn’t the least bit shocked when LC told me he wanted a Minecraft-themed birthday celebration this year. Here’s a quick and very easy craft I created for the kids to make. It’s quick, cheap, and easy…my kind of project! Take a look.

Minecraft Cube

Materials:
– unfinished wood blocks {mine were 1 1/2″}
– square paper punch {mine is 1 3/8″} OR paper cutter/scissors
– Aleene’s Instant Tacky Adhesive Dots
– Bic Mark-It Permanent Markers
– assorted card stock

Step 1: Punch or cut squares from assorted colors of card stock. I used multiple shades of green and black, but you can also use grey, pink, red, white, or other colors depending on what character faces your kiddos want to create.

Step 2: Choose six squares and decorate them. The top face on this cube is the Zombie, the one on the left is a Slime, and the one on the right is a Creeper {sideways}. You may want to print out pictures of some of the character faces as a reference for kids to copy, or they can always look at the characters on an electronic device.

Step 3: Attach the squares to the sides of the cube using adhesive dots.

That’s it! Now they’ve got a fun cube to display featuring some favorite Minecraft characters!
