Layering Tube Necklaces
In case you haven’t noticed, my current jewelry obsession is layering necklaces. We layer everything else in Fall, why not necklaces too, right? Here is my latest project; I love the simplicity of the design, the mixed metals {so I can wear them with anything}, and how easy they are to create! Here’s how I did it in less than 15 minutes and so can you…
Materials:
Mine were provided by Goody Beads. Links below are affiliate links, so if you click and buy, part of your purchase helps support this blog so I can bring you more great jewelry posts!
38mm Silver Plated Curved Tube Bead
50mm Gold Plated Curved Tube Bead
1mm Silver Plated Rolo Chain {16″}
1mm Gold Plated Rolo Chain {18″}
5mm Silver Crimp with Loop {2}
5mm Gold Crimp with Loop {2}
Jump Rings, Gold and Silver Plated {4}
Sprint Ring Clasps {2}
Wire cutters, Needle nose pliers
Step 1: Cut your chains to the appropriate lengths.
I made my gold necklace 18″ and the silver one 16″. If you want them shorter or longer, feel free to adjust them to your liking.
Step 2: Thread the corresponding tube bead onto each chain.
Step 3: Add and secure a crimp to each end of your chains.
All you do is lay the chain inside the little channel, then squeeze the crimp shut tightly around the chain. Give it a little tug to make sure they chain won’t fall out, and you’re good to go! Repeat for your other necklace.
Step 4: Attach a jump ring to each crimp loop, and a clasp on one side.
If you’ve never worked with jump rings before, just use a pair of pliers to gently twist them open and closed…I promise, it’s easy peasy. If you want your necklaces to be attached, you can use one jump ring through both crimp loops, but I like to keep mine as two separate necklaces so I can mix and match them with other pieces or wear them one at a time.
Ta-da! It’s really that simple! Now you have not one, but two gorgeous necklaces! Wear them together, or wear each one separately, depending on your outfit. What do you think? Would you wear these? Are you in love with layers too?

I can’t decide what’s cooler: the necklaces or that awesome bowl you are displaying them in!
I agree with ashley’s comment. That bowl looks pretty cool too. I love the layered look. I like your style. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, Shonell! Glad you stopped by!
